Water Testing - How is it done?
Salerno Lake is part of a province-wide, volunteer-based, water quality monitoring program called the Lake Partner Program.
Our testing kits arrive via Canada Post each year. Testing is performed in 3 locations on Salerno Lake in the summer months between May to October. The SDLCA and volunteer members collect water samples for phosphorus and calcium, record the Secchi disc depths, and take water temperature readings about 1 metre below water level. This process helps us to understand what is happening in our lake so that we can take corrective action if there are any concerns. |
