- SDLCA reserves the right to change the guidelines and/or any cost associated with advertising opportunities without notice. If such a change in the guidelines results in an advertisement being deemed inappropriate, the advertisement will be removed.
- SDLCA cannot verify the accuracy of the claims made in advertisements and acceptance of an advertisement does not imply endorsement by the Salerno Devils’ Lake Cottager’s Association. It is up to individuals to do their due diligence prior to doing business with our advertising sponsors.
- SDLCA reserves the right to remove any advertisement at any time if it is deemed inappropriate.
- SDLCA reserves the right to refuse any advertisement. Advertising that contravenes any SDLCA policy or position will be refused.
SDLCA ADVERTISING GUIDELINES
The Salerno (Devil’s) Lake Cottagers’ Association welcomes the opportunity to publicize information that is likely to be of interest to members, and which is proper and lawful, through its website, Facebook and e-communications.
Advertising may consist of:
- A buy or sell ad or contractor referral from our SDLCA member
- A service or marketing ad from a local business.
This document describes the guidelines for acceptance of advertising and the procedures for members and non-members.
All advertisements submitted to the Salerno (Devil's) Lake Cottagers' Association for posting should be:
- Legal, decent, honest and truthful;
- Prepared with a sense of responsibility to consumers and society; and
- In line with generally accepted standards of fair competition in business.
Advertising will not be accepted for any of the following:
- Adult services (e.g. sexually orientated products or services);
- Alcoholic drinks;
- Cosmetic surgery;
- Gambling;
- Loans and speculative financial products;
- Tobacco and related products;
- Weapons, violence or anti-social behaviour of any description.
In addition, the Salerno (Devil's) Lake Cottagers' Association will not accept advertising that:
- Conflicts with the core values or policies of the Association in any way;
- Affects public support for a political party, a person identified with such a party, or a point of view/question of political controversy;
- Associates the Association with organizations in financial or legal conflict with the Association;
- Is of a sexual nature, features an overtly sexual tone, innuendo or a subtext that may cause offence, includes partial or complete nudity, or which appears to promote illegal or inappropriate behaviour;
- Is of a mocking nature, which makes fun of particular groups of people, types of behaviour, or situations;
- Includes phishing links or other forms of electronic communication/technology;
- If the advertisement is seen as not suitable for the website:
- The website administrator will determine the advertisement’s suitability, and the website administrator may (at his or her own discretion) seek confirmation from the SDLCA president.
- Any advertisement may at any time be removed from the website if it is deemed inappropriate for the website.
- The Association will make reasonable efforts to ensure that only advertisements suitable for 'family viewing' appear on the Association’s website. However, the Association does not control third party sites, content or products. Advertisers may have different use and privacy policies, for which the Association cannot accept responsibility.
- Advertisers may place cookies directly from their site. The Association does not see or control these cookies, and does not control how other sites use them; all users are advised to check their privacy settings.
