FOCA 

 
Advocates for waterfront property owners. Lobbies for fair taxation for water front property owners. Our association’s contribution to FOCA makes a difference. As a non-profit, voluntary organization, FOCA appreciates our support. What do we get for our membership? More than you might know…

  • Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Monitoring Program 

  • Cottage Succession Seminar Series (Keeping the "Family" in the Family Cottage) – this series presents legal and financial planning considerations to help you prepare to leave the cottage to the next generation. Get the conversation started now, while you have the most options.

  • Lake Partner program – FOCA’s Lake Stewards are the backbone of the largest volunteer program of its kind in the world, measuring phosphorus levels and water clarity in Ontario lakes.

  • Road and lake associations can access administrative resources including the FOCA Roads Specialist and help with online payment processing for your association dues and the FOCA toolkit

 

CHA

 

The CHA is a broadly-based Haliburton coalition of volunteers, drawing upon the collective knowledge and strength of its member associations to create synergy through sharing best practices, effectively studying common issues, developing common solutions, recommending county-wide policies and influencing outcomes. CHA also provides Lake Steward workshops on Environmental, Fishing and Septic issues.

 

Their primary roles are to:

  • Improve communication among member associations
  • Support and strengthen member associations
  • Create synergy, by sharing resources and learning from each other
  • Work on projects that are too big for one member association - as long as the project is approved in advance by the board and not in the mandate of another organization.

 

CEWF 

 

Monitors water levels on our lake and river system and advocates for reservoir lakes (including Salerno Lake) that feed into the Trent-Severn Waterway. The Coalition seeks the implementation of an equitable water management policy for the Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) that accords equal consideration, along with fair and just treatment, to everyone in the entire Trent River Watershed. Reservoir and Flow Through (RAFT) lake communities (such as Salerno Lake) should be considered equally with all other TSW communities where the policy applies to safe navigation, access to waterfront property, economic sustainability and the avoidance of negative environmental and economic impacts.
 
CEWF has the following objectives:
  • To promote an integrated approach to watershed management that will improve water conservation throughout the Trent Severn system without jeopardizing water levels in either the RAFT lakes or the canal lakes.
  • To promote approaches to ensure safe navigation, access to waterfront property, economic sustainability and the avoidance of negative  environmental and economic impacts for residents on the RAFT lakes.
