You need us and we need you. Your property is a big investment and the SDLCA works on your behalf to protect not only the value of your property but the quality of your life on Salerno Lake. Membership dues are the sole financial support of the SDLCA.
Membership in the SDLCA is open to all permanent and seasonal residents of Salerno Lake and the surrounding area.
Annual dues are $35.00 per family that own a cottage or property on Salerno Lake or the surrounding lake community.
How is your $35 membership used by the SDLCA?
- It funds our community events, such as the Canada Day Fireworks, postage, printing and newsletter costs, and our liability insurance.
- It funds the Lake Plan project and sponsors its recommended initiatives such as our Shoreline Naturalization Workshop.
- It pays costs associated with our workshops and meeting, such as honorariums for speakers.
- It pays for membership in other Associations like CHA (Coalition of Haliburton Property Owners’ Associations), FOCA (Federation of Ontario Cottage Owners Associations) and CEWF (Coalition for Equitable Water Flow) who provide valuable workshops on environmental concerns and champion the rights of all cottagers in a coordinated effective way.
- It pays for our SDLCA website and our communication tools.
- In addition, your membership dues make possible events like the Concert on the Lake and the Canoe Race which are mostly self-sustaining.

In other words, your money is spent wisely and well.
We aim to increase our membership, ideally to 100% of its potential number, in order to be able to provide our lake community with additional workshops, initiatives and speakers in an effort to keep our members informed and educated about what matters most - our lake, our property and our cottage lifestyle for our next generation. We need you and you need us.
