Haliburton County was formed in 1983,^[4] and consists of the following municipalities listed below. The City of Kawartha Lakes and The Municipality of Trent Lakes are separate operating municipalities. The Municipality of Trent Lakes was formerly known as the Township of Galway-Cavendish and Harvey. Township map.

• Municipality of Dysart et al (Dysart, Bruton, Clyde, Dudley, Eyre, Guilford, Harburn, Harcourt and Havelock)
• Municipality of Highlands East
• Township of Minden Hills

Communities in the county include Haliburton, Minden, Wilberforce, Gooderham, Irondale, Cardiff, West Guilford, Eagle Lake and Fort Irwin.

 

Salerno Lake is in the Country of Haliburton and our lake falls in two municipalities: Minden Hills at the north end and Highlands East in mid and south end.

Minden Hills	Highlands East
Township of Minden Hills is located in the Country of Haliburton. It is an amalgamation of the geographical townships of Snowdon, Lutterworth, Anson, Hindon and Minden.	Township of Highland East is located in the Country of Haliburton.  The township was incorporated in 2001, through the amalgamation of the former townships of Bicroft, Cardiff, Glamorgan and Monmouth.
